Under the functional direction of the Senior Storekeeper or delegate of Materials Management, will be responsible for

performing a variety of warehouse duties, as assigned. Will ensure safety work practices are followed and security is

enforced. This is an 18 month term position with full time hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive, stock, store, and issue gas & electric material, equipment and supplies distinguishing between materials designated
to inventory or direct to order. Ensure material is received compliant with corporate standards and specifications and that

items are returned to stock or scraped in accordance with corporate guidelines.

  • Verify and authorize receipts against packing slips, waybills and bills of lading, noting and reporting any discrepancies and
preparing information for filing or processing claims.

  • According to instruction or schedule pick, pack, prepare (palletize/containerize) and securely seal material, equipment and
supplies in a logical order for shipping according to schedule or to various corporate locations.

  • Ensure accuracy in all required documentation is completed. Verify accuracy and condition of material shipped and received
along with all required documentation; Bills of lading, packing slips, hazardous material placards and material safety data

sheets (MSDS) and special handling instructions are prepared and included with shipments and are in compliance with all

applicable regulations and legislation.

  • Receive, sort and recover returned surplus new and used material, equipment and supplies, distinguishing between material
to be repaired, returned to stock or scrapped in accordance with corporate guidelines.

  • Contribute to maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy. Assist with or perform inventory cycle counts.
  • Operate, inspect and maintain various classes of material handling equipment.
  • Interact with the customers, identifying scheduling requirements, solving supply and delivery problems.
  • Provide additional instruction and training to junior staff.
  • Assist with building maintenance duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Grade 12 education with a minimum of one year experience in Materials Management/Warehousing.
  • Ability to plan, organize and accept responsibility with minimal supervision.
  • Familiar with all work assignments and responsibilities within Materials Management.
  • Familiarity with standardized Corporate PC hardware and software applications including the Materials Management Module
of SAP and electronic Bill of Lading

  • Knowledge of inventory principles and practices.
  • Understanding of electrical and gas apparatus, transmission and distribution type material.
  • Physically capable of safely performing the principal duties of this position. Will be required to work inside and/or outside in all
weather conditions.

  • Required to be certified in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazard Material Information System
