- About the Position
- We are seeking a patient, reliable, and personable caregiver to support an adult male living with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building a genuine, friendly relationship with the person they support while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. The goal is to create a comfortable, predictable daily rhythm that feels like a normal workday—with a balance of therapeutic activities, games, conversation, outings, and everyday activities.The caregiver will work closely with the primary family caregiver and follow established routines and instructions for daily care, physical and cognitive therapies, personal care, meals, and activities.
- Responsibilities
- Follow the established daily and weekly schedule and care routines consistently.
- Assist with prescribed physical and cognitive exercises as demonstrated by the family and/or therapists.Provide medication assistance using pre-sorted medication organizers, including monitoring blood sugar, handing medications to the client, providing water, and observing to ensure medications are safely swallowed.Assist with personal care and activities of daily living as needed.Prepare meals and snacks according to established preferences and instructions.Provide light housekeeping related to the client's care and daily activities.Encourage and participate in appropriate recreational activities, games, conversation, and outings.Maintain a safe and supportive home environment and appropriately use existing mobility equipment.Provide consistent supervision and support when needed to help maintain safety.Communicate professionally and objectively with the client and family.Take direction well and consistently follow family- and therapist-established care protocols.Maintain clear communication with the primary family caregiver regarding the client's day, activities, and any concerns.
