We are a growing Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and General Contractor company based in South Surrey with clients across North America. Our 40-person team manufactures everything from one-off custom products for the entertainment industry; to high volume products for a specific customer, to in-house products and construction building systems, and sells them through a variety of distribution channels to multiple markets and customer segments.

OVERVIEW
The Construction Superintendent is a key member of the project team, responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all on-site construction activities. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Superintendent is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
As EXO's primary representative on-site, the Superintendent drives the Three-Week Look Ahead (3WLA), leads day-to-day field operations, proactively resolves issues before they impact the project, and fosters a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide overall site leadership and daily supervision of field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all construction activities in accordance with the project schedule, drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable codes.
- Lead and maintain the Three Week Look Ahead (3WLA), ensuring all trades have the labour, materials, equipment, and information required to meet upcoming milestones.
- Drive schedule performance by coordinating trade sequencing, monitoring progress, identifying recovery opportunities, and ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Proactively identify and resolve constructability, scheduling, procurement, safety, quality, and coordination issues before they impact the project.
- Lead site coordination meetings, pull-planning sessions, and daily planning activities to ensure all stakeholders understand priorities and upcoming work.
- Coordinate site logistics, material deliveries, cranes, equipment, temporary facilities, and EXO's direct labour to maximize productivity and maintain schedule.
- Review drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies, coordinate RFIs, and resolve field issues with the Project Manager, consultants, and trade partners.
- Coordinate all municipal, consultant, owner, and third-party inspections, ensuring deficiencies are corrected promptly.
- Verify concrete tolerances, survey requirements, and embedded components before installation of prefabricated structural and building envelope systems.
- Coordinate the installation of prefabricated assemblies, ensuring all interfaces, sequencing, and logistics are properly planned and executed.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure all work complies with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
- Identify potential changes in scope and advise the Project Manager of impacts to cost, schedule, and contract requirements.
- Lead site safety by conducting orientations, toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, and enforcing WorkSafeBC regulations and the EXO Safety Program.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional job site at all times.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners while representing EXO professionally.
- Maintain Daily Site Reports, inspection records, photographs, manpower reports, and other project documentation using Procore and company systems.
- Assist the Project Manager with procurement, trade coordination, budgeting, constructability reviews, commissioning, deficiencies, and project closeout.
- Mentor field staff, promote accountability, and foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 7 years' experience as a Superintendent or senior field leader delivering institutional, commercial, or design-build projects with value from $2 to $40M .
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple trades while managing site logistics, quality, safety, scheduling, and overall project execution.
- Experience with prefabricated, modular, structural steel, or building envelope construction is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, building codes, quality control procedures, and concrete tolerances.
- Proven leadership, communication, planning, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact project success.
- Experience leading site meetings, coordinating inspections, and building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, scheduling software, and digital field management tools.
- Journeyperson trade certification or equivalent construction experience is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software is considered an asset.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence.
