Treks 4 Pets is looking for a reliable, energetic, and dog-loving individual to join our team as a Full-Time Commercial Dog Walker.

Position Details
This is a full-time position consisting of four 10-hour shifts per week (Monday to Thursday).
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday
- 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Includes one paid 30-minute break
Treks 4 Pets is based in Lynn Valley and services clients throughout North Vancouver and West Vancouver, from Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay.
You will work both independently and as part of a team. On team days, you'll complete client pick-ups and drop-offs together before heading out to hike independently with your own group of dogs. You'll typically complete two off-leash group hikes per day, with a maximum of four dogs per group.
A company vehicle is provided for transporting dogs between their homes and trailheads. Depending on the day's schedule, you may also complete one or more private neighbourhood walks.
What You'll Be Doing
- Safely transporting dogs to and from hiking locations
- Leading off-leash group hikes on local trails
- Providing engaging, safe, and enriching experiences for every dog
- Completing private neighbourhood walks when scheduled
- Maintaining excellent communication with clients and the Treks 4 Pets team
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every dog in your care
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding outdoor position.
- Group hikes are approximately 70–90 minutes (minimum 5 km)
- Private walks are 30 or 60 minutes (approximately 2–4 km)
- Daily hiking and walking distance typically ranges between 10–15 km
- All weather conditions
- A high level of physical fitness is required
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving throughout North and West Vancouver
- Strong time management and critical thinking skills
- Dependable, professional, and confident working independently
- Passion for dogs and the outdoors
Assets (but not required):
- Experience handling dogs: Previous dog walking experience
- Knowledge of North Shore trail systems
- Familiarity with navigation apps such as AllTrails or Strava
- Previous experience in animal care, customer service, or outdoor recreation
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00/hour starting wage (non-negotiable)
- Four paid training shifts
- One additional paid day to complete Pet First Aid certification
- Company vehicle provided during work hours
