Agile is building a better way for businesses to experience bookkeeping.
We believe business owners should be able to trust that their books are current, their questions will be answered, and the numbers they rely on are actually useful.
Agile combines an experienced bookkeeping team, modern technology, consistent processes, and CPA oversight to make that happen.
We're growing quickly, and we're still building. That means you'll join a team where you're encouraged to ask questions, improve processes, solve problems, and help shape how we work.
If you like taking ownership, working with people, and making complicated things feel simpler, you'll probably enjoy working here.
The Role
As a Business Development Representative in our Vernon office, you will help build Agile's outbound pipeline by creating Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), for Agile’s designated seller. This is a high-volume, high-impact role focused on thoughtful multi-channel outreach, confident cold calls, curious discovery, and strong qualification.
Agile's systems will provide enriched target accounts, contact information, messaging, and cadences. Your job is to turn that context into relevant conversations, determine whether there is a real fit, and hand qualified opportunities to Agile's designated seller. You are not responsible for advancing or closing deals. The seller owns the lead after the handoff.
We're looking for someone who is hungry, curious, persistent, empathetic, and highly coachable. This is an entry-level opportunity to learn outbound sales while participating in a modern growth engine as it is being built.
What You'll Do
- Create SQLs in new Canadian geographies through high-volume phone, email, LinkedIn, event, and other approved outreach.
- Work from enriched target-account data and use the context provided to make outreach relevant without over-researching every prospect.
- Run confident cold calls and ask thoughtful questions about a business owner's current bookkeeping experience, needs, and timing.
- Clearly explain Agile's value and adapt the conversation to the person and business in front of you.
- Handle questions, objections, and rejection with curiosity, empathy, composure, and persistence.
- Qualify the lead, book a meeting with the designated seller, provide complete handoff notes, confirm the meeting, and help ensure the prospect attends.
- Maintain accurate activity, contact, account, and SQL data in Agile's CRM.
- Review calls, apply coaching quickly, and share useful prospect feedback, objections, and market patterns with the team.
What You'll Need
- No previous BDR title or B2B sales experience is required. We care more about your communication, working style, and ability to improve.
- Curiosity, empathy, and the ability to build trust when speaking with business owners.
- Persistence and the confidence to hear “no,” learn from it, and make the next call with good energy.
- Motivation to work toward clear, measurable goals in a fast-moving environment.
- Coachability and a commitment to consistent improvement.
- Previous customer-facing experience in hospitality, retail, sales, recruiting, entrepreneurship, or another performance-oriented environment.
- Strong organization, personal initiative, and follow-through.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Comfort learning and using phone, email, LinkedIn, CRM, and other business tools throughout the day.
- Comfort working with AI tools and excitement about helping build, test, and improve the automations and workflows behind a modern outbound engine.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and the ability to work full-time in person in Vernon.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with bookkeeping, accounting, financial services, or the realities of running a small business.
- Experience making outbound calls, generating interest, or working toward a target.
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience with HubSpot, Apollo, or similar sales and CRM tools.
If you don't check every box but think your experience and working style fit the role, we'd still like to hear from you.
