Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and creative individual to join our team. This role involves preparing and decorating a variety of baked goods, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, experience in food handling, and a strong commitment to delivering quality products with excellent customer service and the ability to handle store front management.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and other confections, ensuring high quality and consistency
- Decorate cakes and desserts with precision, artistic flair, and attention to detail to meet and ensure visual appeal aligns with customer expectations
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, assembling, and packaging products
- Assist customers at the storefront by taking orders and assisting customers with product selection, handling payments, answering questions about products, and providing friendly service
- Handle food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and packaging baked items for sale or delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace and kitchen in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage food handling procedures carefully to ensure freshness and safety of all products
- Support inventory management by restocking display cases and monitoring ingredient levels
- Operate kitchen/baking equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation
- Manage packaging of baked goods for retail display or take-out orders
Experience
- Previous experience in a bakery or restaurant environment is highly preferred
- Skilled in cake decorating, food preparation, cooking, and baking techniques
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively and positively with diverse customers
- Kitchen experience demonstrating efficiency in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of the food industry standards related to packaging and presentation of baked goods
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Highly motivated, flexible, can easily adapt to environment and learn at a quick pace
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform repetitive tasks responsibly
- Exceptional prioritizing and time management skills; reliable/organized
