The Financial Assistant is accountable for the implementation of daily financial transactions for the Department of Chemistry, in accordance with Western’s financial, payroll, procurement and funding agency policies, procedures and guidelines. This role will facilitate the administration of travel expenses, research accounts, professional expense allowance, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll requisition functions. The Financial Assistant will assist with budget development and financial year-end processes, and will serve as a key contact for inquiries from faculty members, staff and students related to financial policies and processes. This role will be accountable for supporting research account transactions, and for assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with granting agency guidelines.
