The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) offers challenging and exciting careers in health and social services delivery and administration in Canada’s North. The Territorial Authority has service locations in communities across the territory and a staff of more than 1,600 serving over 43,000 residents of the NWT and 5,900 residents of the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. Challenging work, welcoming communities, and expanded opportunities are some of the benefits offered to employees of the NTHSSA.
The Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) supports the Rehabilitation Department within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) by assisting Physiotherapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) in delivering safe and effective rehabilitation services. The RA performs both therapeutic and clerical tasks under supervision and works with patients across all age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
The NTHSSA provides comprehensive health and social services across the Northwest Territories, serving about 43,000 people over a large geographic area. In the Fort Smith region, services are delivered to approximately 2,500 residents through a health facility and a long-term care facility.
The RA works directly under the Regional Manager of Allied Health Services and supports inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care clients.
