If you're a smart, proactive individual looking to make a difference in guiding Kitchener-Waterloo to net zero, you may have found your next employer.
Evolta Electric is an Ontario-based low-carbon electrical contractor with a focus on sustainability. We're a team of people passionate about reducing carbon emissions and creating a greener, healthier Ontario. We do this through the supply, and installation of:
- EV chargers
- LED lighting
- Greener smart homes
- Energy storage solutions (home batteries)
- General electrical work
The Role
We're looking for a Construction & Maintenance Electrician (309A) who wants more than a tools-only role. Alongside your day-to-day electrical work, you'll take ownership of the operational side of your own jobs — scheduling, quoting smaller work, and pulling permits. As Evolta grows, this is a role with a clear path to overseeing scheduling, quoting, and permitting for a small team, not just yourself.
This is a great fit for someone who's technically strong, organized, and wants a role where their judgment and initiative directly shape how the business runs — not just the wiring.
Residential and commercial experience required, along with the below.
Electrical Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
- Read technical diagrams and blueprints
- Perform general electrical maintenance
- Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
- Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
- Follow the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial and local building regulations
- Circuit breaker corrective maintenance
- Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems
- Good knowledge of various test equipment
Adminstrative Responsibilities
- Manage your own job scheduling — coordinating timelines, availability, and site access
- Quote and price small residential/commercial jobs directly with clients
- Prepare and submit permit applications, and track them through to approval/closeout
- Maintain accurate, timely job documentation and reporting through Evolta's field/scheduling systems
- As the team grows, take on scheduling, quoting, and permit oversight for other field staff
Nice to Have
- Ontario Master Electrician licence (or actively working toward it) — an asset, not a requirement
- Prior experience quoting or estimating small jobs
- Comfort with field service software (e.g., simPRO or similar)
- Very comfortable using technology for scheduling, organization, quoting, and ongoing reporting
- A passion for sustainability
- Looking to become part of an inclusive, forward-thinking, passionate company
- Self-directed — comfortable owning outcomes on your own jobs, not just tasks
If this sounds like you, please submit a cover letter and resume clearly indicating how you meet the criteria above.
