Individuals who are certified with a Cook / Currently enrolled in a health care food services worker-training program / completion of an accredited Program of Culinary school or Red Seal Certificate
Current Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health

Must have experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in a health care or long term care setting.
Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation for a variety of cultural preferences.
Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
Must be knowledgeable of special, therapeutic, and texture modified diets.
Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift.
Must be able to work accurately, quickly, and safely.
Must be an effective team player that works well with others.
Must be able to work and communicate effectively with long-term care residents.
Able to perform duties assigned by Nutrition Manager
Must have leadership ability and be able to direct the dietary department in the absence of the Nutrition Manager of Dietary Services.
