McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Social Media Manager to join our Marketing team. This position is located at our Toronto Ontario office.


The Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing the social strategy and execution for all Canadian social handles, working with external agencies and internal partners. Oversees both organic, day-to-day executions and paid social campaign executions for all Canadian brands.


Lead social and content strategy for all owned Canadian social handles. Work with social agency and internal content team to develop social content that resonates with both English and French speaking regions. Develop a plan for reaching a multi-lingual audience. Plan should map out the best social publishing approach for talking to different cultures, while still driving production efficiencies.
Oversee monthly content planning process for all active social channels across multiple brands. Work with Social Media Content Manager and Canada Community Specialist to ensure adherence to social governance, brand tone of voice, community management guidelines and content standards.
Work with media team to ensure all social media elements of Canadian media plans are leveraging content insights, social platform best practices and MMA learnings.
Lead Canada social media reporting for Quarterly Business Reviews and work closely with all social media team members to create project-specific recaps for Senior leadership.
Leverage US learnings to develop a social brand ambassador program for Canada. Integrate consumer engagement with PR programs by working with internal PR team and Canada PR agency.
Liase internal Canadian marketing teams and social team to ensure social content and strategy fits seamlessly into campaigns and activities. Liases with global colleagues to drive North American efficienct and alignment.


Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
4-6 years of relevant experience managing social media for a large company or publisher (preferably overseeing multiple brands)
Power user of all social media channels
Strong knowledge of native social insights tools (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
Ability to develop a rapport quickly in a social environment with a variety of stakeholders
Detail oriented, organized and deadline driven
Ability to travel 5-10% as needed; quarterly to Hunt Valley, Maryland.
Knowledge of paid social analytics tools (Facebook Ads Manager, Pinterest Ads Manager, etc.)
Familiar with social management and insights tools (Percolate, Curalate, Crimson Hexagon, etc.)
Cooking experience/food and ingredient knowledge preferred
Bilingual English/French language skills preferred
