Twin Anchors Manufacturing (2004) Ltd. is looking for an organized and motivated Purchaser to join our team in Sicamous, BC. We manufacture modular buildings, park models, industrial structures, and other specialized products.
The Purchaser plays an important role in ensuring the materials, supplies, and services required for production are available when needed while maintaining accurate inventory levels and developing strong supplier relationships.
What You'll Be Working On
As our Purchaser, you will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities and supporting the efficient flow of materials throughout our manufacturing operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and services required for production and operations
- Preparing and placing purchase orders and following up on outstanding orders
- Monitoring material requirements to help ensure production has the supplies needed to meet schedules
- Maintaining appropriate inventory levels while helping reduce excess and obsolete inventory
- Working with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, lead times, and delivery terms
- Identifying and evaluating new suppliers and sourcing opportunities
- Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors, brokers, and distributors
- Reviewing pricing and identifying opportunities for cost savings
- Coordinating delivery schedules and addressing shortages, delays, or incorrect shipments
- Working closely with production, inventory, accounting, and other departments
- Assisting with inventory accuracy and resolving purchasing or inventory discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and supplier information
- Supporting continuous improvement of purchasing and inventory processes
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years of purchasing, procurement, or inventory management experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset
- Familiarity with construction materials, industrial parts, equipment, and services is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to plan ahead and respond effectively to changing production requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable communicating and building relationships with suppliers and internal departments
- Self-motivated with a practical, solutions-focused approach
Computer & Technical Skills
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with purchasing, inventory, or ERP software is an asset
- Ability to maintain accurate electronic purchasing and inventory records
Education
- Education or training in purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, business administration, or a related field is an asset
- Equivalent purchasing or manufacturing experience will also be considered
