Mid-Senior Web Backend Developer
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, or US Remote

Reports to: Chief Product Officer
As a Senior Web Backend Developer, you will lead the development of Tafi and Daz 3D's web backend systems, ensuring the successful execution of backend initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving innovation in our backend development processes.
Your Impact as a Mid-Senior Web Backend Developer
Lead the development and implementation of scalable and robust web backend solutions.
Design and optimize databases for performance and scalability.
Integrate third-party services and APIs.
Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
Innovate by modernizing and scaling backend activities in the organization.
Stay informed of emerging web backend technologies and integrate improvements into our backend systems.
Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure backend solutions meet product requirements and quality standards.
Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks to the business emerging from backend engineering initiatives.
You Bring to Daz 3D and Tafi:
5+ years of experience in web backend development or application delivery with a proven track record of architecting solutions from the ground up.
Proven ability to oversee the web backend development process from concept to deployment of complex applications.
Prior true start-up experience.
Strong understanding of backend development technologies such as App Engine, AWS, and Azure.
Experience with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Datastore, or similar.
Experience with e-commerce frameworks.
Effective communication skills and the ability to share knowledge with diverse stakeholders.
Bonus Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with containerization technologies.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Understanding of security best practices and secure coding principles.
Experience with microservices architecture.
