Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent experience working as a medical laboratory assistant. Recent experience in cardiology testing including Holter monitor and ECG with MUSE and MARS applications. Recent experience performing urinalysis. Current registration with CSMLS. Experience using Meditech LIS. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians.
