Summary
LeeCaring Communities is seeking a compassionate and experienced Manager of Therapeutic Services (Occupational Therapist) to lead our interdisciplinary therapeutic services team in a long-term care environment. This leadership role combines clinical Occupational Therapy practice with department management, ensuring residents receive high-quality, resident-centered care that promotes independence, dignity, purpose, and belonging.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Kinesiology, and Therapy Aides.
- Provide Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment planning, cognitive assessments, equipment recommendations, and rehabilitation services for long-term care residents.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic programs that enhance resident quality of life and independence.
- Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
- Oversee departmental operations, staffing, scheduling, performance management, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in resident care conferences, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration and good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
- Several years of continuing care, long-term care, or healthcare experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a therapeutic services environment.
- Experience working with seniors, dementia care, cognitive assessments, and rehabilitation programming.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AADL Authorizer designation.
- Functional Independence Measure (FIM) certification.
- Experience working in unionized environments.

Pay: $49.40-$65.11 per hour
