The opportunity
Our Technology Consulting Data & Analytics practice works collaboratively with our clients to enhance their ability to use and interpret data and develop their own enhanced information management capabilities to support better decision making, along with regulatory compliance within their business. Our clients need the vision to articulate the big picture and the precision to see the smallest of details.
We are looking for a Manager, Product Owner to join us in providing a differentiated, data-powered service to our clients. You will build valuable relationships with our clients through demonstrating exceptional delivery and help solve our client’s most complex problems.
Your key responsibilities
As a Product Owner, you will own the delivered product/ solution to the clients using industry agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe, ensuring the voice of the customer is the focal point.
Work with clients to understand business goals and priorities, and work with Scrum teams to deliver solutions to meet these goals
Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users
Provide functional and technical expertise to support design and implementation work, using your ability to influence and translate technical concepts
Build and maintain strong relationships with client and key stakeholders as a trusted expert
Bring culture of Agile mind-set and manage the performance of the delivery team and will actively coach and mentor more junior members of the team
Present analysis, insight, and recommendations to assist governance forums and senior client stakeholders with decision making
Help grow and win new business by contributing to proposals and client presentations.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Data Science and/or Relevant Degree
Proven experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment - continuously reviewing the business needs, refining priorities, outlining milestones and deliverables, and identifying opportunities and risks across sprints
5+ years extensive hands-on experience working in a client facing role for a leading consulting or professional services company as a Product/ Solution Owner role
Additional professional qualifications preferred, such as PMP, SAFe or Diploma Level in Project Management or similar discipline from a recognised institution or accreditation body
Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of data warehousing principles/concepts and practical development experience in all areas of the data warehousing life cycle
Knowledge of OLAP-related principles and concepts
Strong grasp of data modelling techniques and concepts (Normalized/Denormalized, Conceptual/Logical/Physical, Star, Snowflake, Data Vault)
Strong knowledge and experience with relational databases such as Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata
Analytics Experience (MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) considered a nice to have
Ability to manage a diverse and challenging stakeholder community
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client management skills
Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Able to manage uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment
Previous consulting experience a plus
Experience driving the ideation, design and sustainment of digital products and services
Experience setting, prioritising, and accepting the work generated by your team in order to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the product is delivered
Experience collaborating with partners and customers to co-develop a roadmap, driving products and features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment
Experience leading the product functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology
