With strong roots established in the manufacturing and distribution of research reagents, abm has since successfully expanded into the clinical diagnostics and antibody drug development sector. We are now looking for talented and experienced scientists who can establish and lead new research directions in the areas of clinical diagnostics and antibody drug development. Successful candidates will be expected to take on the sole responsibility of setting up and managing projects as an independent research lead. Qualifying candidates should have an outstanding achievement either in scientific publications or in a relevant industrial environment, and compensation will be based on qualifications, with consideration for significant performance-based bonuses.

We currently have openings for scientists with experience in the following areas:

1. Antibody humanization: Ph.D. or MSc. scientists with extensive antibody drug development background.

heavily involved in humanizing antibodies (commonly from rodent sources) for reducing immunogenicity and improving their activation of the human immune system

knowledge of antibody design and experience with CDR or SDR grafting or other antibody humanization methods are assets

successfully humanized antibodies may enter the drug development and clinical trial pipeline

2. Antibody CHO production: Ph.D. or MSc. scientists with significant experience in generating antibodies from CHO cells at 3 g/L capacity.

heavily involved in the design and generation of stable expression CHO cells for high yield antibody production suitable for drug development and clinical trials

knowledge of mammalian expression systems, cloning and stable cell line generation are assets

must be familiar with expression vector and genetic elements used in current antibody drug development

3. Immuno checkpoint antibody drug (OI) animal experimentation: Ph.D. or MSc scientsits with significant experience in drug testing in animal models.

experience with humanized mouse animal models is an asset

responsible for the design, experimental set up and managing the animal trials for antibody drug development

knowledge of FDA-approval processes for antibody drugs is an asset as the candidate may be involved in arranging clinical trials if successful.

4. Business development management: Scientists or managers who can gather leads and successfully negotiate contracts with prominent pharmaceutical companies.

heavily involved in seeking out potential partners, collaborators and customers to support and expand our antibody drug development directions.

potential to negotiate ground-breaking antibody drug development deals with big pharmaceutical companies and major players in the sector

Additional qualifications applicable to all positions:
Strong leadership capability. The candidate will be expected to provide examples of past experience in personnel or project management.

Ability to participate within a multifunctional team and assist other departments

Team player with excellent organization and analytical skills

Positive attitude and motivation to learn and take responsibility

Strong interpersonal skills with good written, oral communication and presentation skills.
