About the opportunity:
The Assistant Manager, Private Label & Business Development will provide support to the Business Development team, which includes Retail Private Label, Multicultural and Emerging Channels. This role is crucial in supporting the organizations commercial growth objectives by focusing on expanding our share position in Retailer Brands (PL), growing our presence in multicultural (products & channels), and uncovering new business opportunities for Lactalis Canada.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Responsible for overseeing project management processes, including the development of all project timelines and execution of new product launches, business transitions, redesigns, product reformulations and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain Master Price File across all PL Canada retail customers and act as a liaison with Account Teams, Trade Marketing and Trade Spend to maximize pricing and accrual accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain new product launch volume trackers for all new product launches or transitions with the Private Label Team. Work with Account, Field, Supply Chain & other departments to resolve any executional or performance issues pre and post launch / transition.
- Manage and develop strong working relationships with select customers either directly or in conjunction with the Business Development Manager, Associate Manager and Multicultural Account Team.
- Maintain and update all customer interactive tools, online portals as needed on a daily or weekly basis.
· Assist Business Development Manager, Private Label and Associate Manager, Private Label in strategic initiatives, i.e. redesigns and managing packaging inventory.
- Work closely with the Research and Development (R&D) technical team to ensure retail customer private label technical requirements & data support systems are maintained to align to product launch requirements. Uncover incremental distribution opportunities, with existing and new clients, Branded and Private Label, and assist in commercialization.
- Assist the Business Development functional leads in preparing both internal and external presentations.
- Prepare weekly/monthly sales & audit files for analysis of overall business market segments. Provide commentary summary by customer identifying any major trends or variances.
- Procure and ship or deliver product samples directly to both internal and external customer contacts.
What you will bring:
- University degree (or equivalent level of work experience)
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in Sales Account or Brand Management
- Proficient with standard office technology, systems and data sources, including, but not limited to, MS Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Power BI
- Experience with Project Management Duties
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and demands
- Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives through both written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative and Curious; able to work cross functionally and develop rapport with all levels of the organization
- Comfortable with customer engagement and regular interaction
· A good understanding of Nielsen market share reports and able to translate the sales data to identify trends and capture opportunities
