Why you'll want to work here
If you're tired of poorly run jobs, clients left in the dark, materials and subtrades that show up late and inconsistent, and a schedule that changes on you week to week, you'll feel the difference here on day one. We put the same care into how we run the company as we do into the finished product.
That means jobs that are planned before they start, clients who know what is happening and when, and materials and subtrades coordinated so you are building instead of standing around or scrambling. It means clean, organized sites, the right tools, and the lead time to do the work properly.
For you that adds up to:
- A four-day week, every Friday off, on a fixed 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule
- $30 to $37 an hour, based on experience and proven skill
- Steady, full-time work with a company building for the long term, not lurching from job to job
- A professional crew that holds a real standard, so you are working beside people who care as much as you do
- The tools, the site organization, and the lead time to actually do the work properly
- If you are working toward your Red Seal, we are a registered SkilledTradesBC sponsor and will back your apprenticeship
We hire to five values and we mean them: Leave It Better, Deliver Value, Communicate Before You're Asked, Own It, Craftsmanship.
Who we are looking for
An experienced carpenter who works clean, works accurate, and owns the result. Red Seal, or 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience.
You are a strong fit if you:
- Produce clean, accurate finish work and stand behind it
- Show up on time, prepared, and consistent
- Flag problems early instead of hiding them
- Take feedback and apply it the next day
- Keep tools, materials, and the site organized and safe
- Respect client homes and represent the company professionally
What you will do
- Finish carpentry: windows, doors, trim, hardware and some custom millwork
- Framing as the job requires
- Interior and exterior carpentry and finishing
- Demolition and site containment: dust control, protection, and controlled teardown
- Jobsite protection, layout, and daily cleanup to a high standard
- Maintain your tools and keep the site clean and safe
- Work to our QC standard at every stage of the job
What it takes
- Red Seal certification, or 3 to 5 years of carpentry and finishing experience
- Strong hand and power tool proficiency
- Physically capable: lifting, carrying, ladders, on your feet
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
- Dependable, respectful, and sober on the job
How to apply
Send us all four of the following:
- A resume showing listing your experience and the work you have done
- A short cover letter with your availability, your start date, and why you want to work at Live Timber specifically
- Photos of your own finish work: trim, doors, casework, built-ins, or millwork
Pay: $30.00-$37.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
