We are looking for a proactive and business-focused HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across a dynamic, site-based environment. You will play a key role in driving employee engagement, strengthening workforce capability, and supporting business growth through effective HR strategies.
What You’ll Do
- Partner closely with leaders to drive employee engagement, retention, and performance outcomes
- Provide expert coaching and guidance on employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Build strong, trusted relationships across sites through regular in-person engagement and visibility
- Support and maintain union relationships, including active participation in grievance processes
- Lead and support full-cycle recruitment for both field and leadership roles
- Develop and strengthen talent pipelines through community outreach, educational partnerships, and workforce planning initiatives
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience
- Partner with leadership to support workforce planning, organizational change, and HR initiatives aligned with business priorities
What You Bring
- 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a preference for experience in unionized construction, mining, or comparable operational environments.
- Strong expertise in employee relations and employment legislation
- Mandatory experience in unionized environments, including exposure to grievance handling
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, and field-based environment
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- CHRP, CHRL, or CPHR designation (or working toward) is considered a strong asset
Travel Requirements
- This role requires regular travel to operational sites to support field teams and maintain strong on-site presence
- Flexibility to travel on a frequent and as-needed basis is essential
