Job Location: This position is remote and can be located anywhere in North America.

As a Technical Editor, you will review materials submitted by technical writers for clarity, punctuation, grammar, content, and adherence to the Style Guide. This role is a major contributor towards our company and team goals of ensuring consistency and high-quality across the Dayforce documentation suite.

In addition, you will advise writers on topic and guide structure, and help the Technical Content Development team create and implement an Information Architecture strategy.

You may also be required to write end-user and admin guide content to support the Technical Content Development team in busy periods.

This position requires solid technical aptitude, excellent writing skills, and the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.

About the Position:
The Technical Editor is primarily responsible for reviewing materials submitted by technical writers for structure, clarity, punctuation, grammar, content, and adherence to the Style Guide. This role is a major contributor towards our company and team goals of ensuring consistency and high-quality across the Dayforce documentation suite.

Responsibilities:
Review materials submitted by technical writers for clarity, punctuation, grammar, content, and adherence to the Style Guide.
Create, maintain, and follow consistent writing style standards and guidelines.
Guide writers’ efforts to restructure documentation according to best practices.
Become familiar with Dayforce features and modules and apply product knowledge and product usage best practices when editing topics.
As needed in support of the Technical Content Development team, write client-facing descriptions of new features and resolved issues for the release notes by reading available design documentation, communicating with development teams, and verifying new functionality in the application.
As needed in support of the Technical Content Development team, create new and update existing end-user and system documentation to reflect the new features and functionality added in each release.
Lead and actively champion initiatives to improve documentation quality and processes.
Advocate the end user’s experience in all product and documentation discussions.
Help the Technical Content Development team create and implement an Information Architecture strategy.
Mentor new hires and junior team members

Qualifications:
University degree in a related field
Excellent written communication skills
Experience producing software documentation while adhering to a style guide
Expertise in Information Design and DITA
Familiarity with Minimal Documentation concepts
Experience with Information Architecture
Experience in comprehending software functionality with minimal instruction or demonstration
Experience using single-sourcing documentation tools, such as MadCap Flare
Strong attention to detail, editing skills, analytical skills, and thorough understanding of technical documentation
A drive to learn quickly and constantly adapt to new challenges
Working knowledge of structured authoring and single-source publishing tools (Madcap Flare)
Experience developing and implementing documentation procedures, guidelines, and best practices
Experience with software development tools, like Jira
Experience writing documentation for system admins and developers
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills required
Strong work ethic, initiative, and drive
