Position Title: Kids Club, Team Leader
Location(s): Douglas YMCA Kids Club (2150 Brigadoon Ave, Vancouver, BC V5P 3Z7)
Terms: Permanent, Full-Time, 35 hours/week
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-9:00am & 2:30pm-6:00pm + Admin
Salary: $24.82 per hour + Benefits
Start Date: As soon as possible
Reports To: Manager, Healthy Child Development
Nature & Scope:
If you want to work with kids we’re looking for you! YMCA Team Leaders have a passion for working with children and families. They are dedicated to developing leadership to a team of Kids Club Activity Leaders and volunteers.
Responsibilities:

Plan and lead indoor and outdoor activities for children ages 5 – 12

Directly supervise and provide leadership to a team of staff and volunteers

Provide on-going coaching and development of staff and volunteers

Plan and implement child-centred programming

Establish positive relationships and communications with families, staff and key community stakeholders

Completion of administrative tasks including: payroll, budget tracking, etc.

Provide active supervision to ensure children are accounted for at all times

Prepare healthy afternoon snack

Build positive relationships with children and their families

Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times

Ensure the health and safety of children in your care
Qualifications/Experience:
-
Must be 19 years of age
-
Experience working or volunteering with children
-
Minimum 1 year experience leading a team

Emergency First Aid & CPR in accordance with Schedule C of the Child Care Licensing Regulation (can be taken within 90 days of start date)

It is an asset if you have had training related to child development, and if you don’t – the YMCA provides training!

Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date. Criminal record check application forms will be provided to you by the YMCA as we are required to use the provincial Criminal Record Review Program
