Hours of work: Casual Days/Evenings/Weekends as required by the needs of the organization

Qualifications:
- Health Care Aide certificate received from a recognized college or approved equivalent
- Combination of medical trainig and experience will also be considered.
- Ability to read, write and speak English as well as to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and completes assignments in a timely manner.
- Given the cultural diversity of our Home, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse
population is required.
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult
Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
- All workers strongly recommended to be immunized as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Following the plan of care and ADL sheet as developed by the health care team.
- Seeking guidance from the nurses as required to complete care.
- Transferring and assisting Resident with mobility and exercise utilizing the assessed transfer/walking assistance logo posted at the bedside.
- Treating residents with dignity and ensuring privacy while providing care.
- Encouraging independence of residents within their abilities.
- Assisting with meal assist as required using safe feeding practices.
- Engages and interactes in a respectful manner.
- Assisting with toileting and incontinence care.
- Documenting care provided and reporting any concerns to the nursing team leader.
- Monitoring behaviours and recording the reporting behaviours for nursing follow up.
- Reporting unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action to prevent accident/injury.
Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner and maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- To be knowledgeable of, and work within, the Resident Bill of Rights, Mission, Vision and Values of Heritage Life PCH.
- Works closely and cooperates with other staff and residents. Maintains good working relationships with those who work within the Campus.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
