The ServiceNow Developer is integral to the success of the Technology & IT Services Management team, and to CAAT’s guiding mission and growth strategy.
Working with the Manager, ServiceNow, the ServiceNow Developer will integrate, maintain, configure, and develop the ServiceNow environments as well as explore opportunities to grow and improve ServiceNow across CAAT. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the platform through incidents, changes, enhancements, and service requests and support the analysis, design, and development of the ServiceNow platform.
We are looking for someone with:
- Five (five) plus years of using ServiceNow with the creation of workflows, dashboards, reporting.
- Three (3) plus years of ServiceNow application development experience.
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience analyzing ServiceNow platform requirements, presenting solutions, and developing them.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with JavaScript, XML, HTML and Jelly Scripting.
- Must have integration experience (REST APIs, Integration Hub, Flow Designer).
- Must have Custom Application Experience (App Studio).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist or Certified Application Developer certifications are nice to have.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience crafting ServiceNow update sets, promoting and testing through multiple instances and into production.
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, UI/UX concepts, and web services integration (example: SOAP, WSDL, REST, API’s).
- Exceptional communications skills and experience in collaborating with various departments across the organization.
- Excellent project management and time management skills in a dynamically changing environment.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint.
- Proficiency with Enterprise Service Management frameworks such as ITIL, DevOps, and LEAN would be an asset. ITIL Foundations Certification (v3 or 4) is an asset.
Once here you will:
- Support upgrades to the latest release of the ServiceNow application in a timely manner with minimal or no disruption to our customers.
- Ensure accurate environment management processes are being followed and proper scripting standards are being met, while identifying system deficiencies and recommending solutions.
- Partner with team members to develop solutions and handle enhancements using Agile or Waterfall methodologies, while also maintaining and continuously improving processes, standards, policies, and tools, and expanding the platform to other areas of the business.
- Deliver training to fellow employees, IT staff, and team members on ServiceNow functionality, while also conducting code reviews for the application development team, providing demos, and performing proof of concepts on new functionality.
- Collaborate with process owners to develop and customize ServiceNow application solutions, facilitate the rollout of new applications and modules, participate in new technology investigations, and make recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
- Provide design solutions, timelines, and maintain design documents, while collaborating with and assisting the ServiceNow Product Manager in managing and leveraging our ServiceNow development partner.
- Own and be accountable for the client’s business needs, driving towards solutions while working creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
- Commit to ongoing learning and development by participating in conferences and educational programs, while staying up to date with current best practices and emerging technologies.
