The opportunity
As a member of the Canadian Professional Practice group, the primary role of the Assurance Digital Methodology Manager is to support the Assurance Leadership priority of driving innovation and the application of EY Digital GAM, as well as EY Helix tools (e.g., General Ledger Analyzer) and related audit procedures. The mandate includes providing support to Assurance professionals in further adoption of the firm’s digital journey and performance of high-quality digital audits. The Assurance Digital Methodology Manager will engage with audit teams on digital methodology matters, including the use of EY Digital GAM and EY Helix tools, and related forms, audit programs, enablers and guidance to comply with professional standards, and to enhance professional development and to promote knowledge sharing in the area of digital and digital audit techniques. The role will be full-time effective as soon as possible for a two-year term.

Your Key Responsibilities:
With the support of other members of Professional Practice, the Assurance Digital Methodology Manager takes an active role in coaching and enabling our professionals in understanding and applying the requirements of EY Digital GAM and related methodology and guidance enablement in Canada.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
Facilitate and project manage the Digital GAM pilot program and future expanded deployments in Canada, including coordinating and supporting Digital GAM coaches, the Innovation & Digital Leader and ten|three labs
Participate in informal discussions and formal consultations with engagement teams on complex and/or emerging digital auditing matters
Provide informal and formal team-based coaching to engagement teams on the application of EY Digital GAM, EY Helix audit procedures and professional standards
Research and respond to digital audit methodology questions, including assistance with monitoring the Ask PPD Audit mailbox
Develop an in-depth knowledge the EY Digital GAM methodology and various digital technologies (i.e., EY Helix tools including GL Analyzer and sub-ledger analyzers) to promote the appropriate application of GAM while complying with auditing standards
Liaise with EY Global on emerging digital audit issues (e.g., blockchain, cryptocurrencies, use of artificial intelligence, etc.)
Participate in internal Digital audit methodology knowledge sharing groups in Canada and the Americas region
Monitor digital forms, enablers and guidance changes from EY Global, EY US, newly released Canadian standards, A&A News articles, etc. and make recommendations about the need for communication, changes and/or enhancements to Canadian materials and execute on those recommendations
Author and edit articles related to Digital GAM, EY Helix tools and audit procedures, and other emerging audit technologies for the Canadian Assurance Reporter newsletter and other assurance communications
Understand challenges faced in the field as it relates to Digital GAM and digital audit techniques, and identify opportunities for initiatives to address those challenges
Assist in identifying Digital GAM and other digital audit techniques learning needs for the Assurance practice through discussions with leadership, partners, program leaders, participants, consideration of inspection results, etc.
Assist with the preparation and presentation of Digital GAM and other digital audit techniques learning materials such as the A&A on Demand webcast series, Assurance Executive Events, and the Core Assurance Learning curriculum
Support the education of our audit regulators in the use of Digital GAM, EY Helix tools and audit procedures, and other emerging technologies and monitor regulatory activities and help remediate areas of inspection findings
Assist with quality control initiatives such pre-issuance reviews, coaching and Audit Quality Reviews (AQR) as it relates to Digital GAM, digital audit techniques and other emerging technologies
