We are looking to add a member to our engineering team. Your responsibilities would include:
- Self motivated, responsible and able to make quick effective decisions
- Manage the full life cycle of multiple projects including design, coordination with manufacturing and product testing
- Schematic and cabinet layout Electrical CAD design
- Material specification and bill of material creation
- Specification and control philosophy interpretation
- PLC, HMI and VFD programming and commissioning
- Travel locally 20-30% and overnight trips 5-10%
Qualifications
- Bachelors in electrical engineering or BCIT diploma in Electrical Power and Industrial Control option or similar
- Experience with electrical control wiring troubleshooting
- Experience programming multiple PLC and HMI brands including Schneider, Siemens, ABB, Beijer, Rockwell, Horner and/or IFM
- Experience with multiple languages including C/C++/IEC 61131-3/Ladder/Function Block
- Experience with VFD programming and commissioning including Schneider, Siemens, ABB Rockwell, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, Vacon
- Good knowledge of DC and AC motor control including open and closed loop methodologies
- Familiar with multiple communication mediums including RS232, RS485, CAN and Ethernet
- Experience with multiple communication protocols including Modbus RTU, CANopen, J1939, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET and/or MQTT
Useful other qualifications
- Experience in circuit board design
- Experience with microcontroller hardware design and programming
- Work history of hands on experience
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, or Node an asset
- Experience with cloud infrastructure an asset
- Experience with Linux environments
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
