Site Description: The Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL) was established in 1998 through the amalgamation of the Kingston Public Library and the Frontenac County Library. KFPL serves those that link in the City of Kingston and Frontenac County in Ontario, Canada. The Library regularly welcomes visitors from outside of this region. The KFPL has a Library Board of appointees and representatives from Kingston City Council and Frontenac County Council.
Position: Part-Time Security Guard - Kingston Frontenac Public Library
Site: 130 Johnson St. Kingston, Ontario
Pay Rate: $22.80/hourly
Shift: 0900-1700- Fridays/Saturday
Overtime Method: Ontario Averaging Agreement (AA) over 88 hours

Job Description:

Proactive & reactive security patrols
-
Majority of shift will be spent conducting exterior patrols
-
Response to incidents
-
Enforce site rules and regulations
-
Report writing and note taking
-
Daily shift reports
-
Access Control
-
Investigate routine incidents
-
Additional Duties as Assigned
Job Requirements:
-
Valid Security License for Ontario
-
Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
-
Able to stand for up to 6-8 hours per shift
-
Able to complete extensive patrolling of site
-
Fluent English communication (oral and written) required
-
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position. You will be required to attend in-person training at the Kingston office to complete the certification

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
