Job Description

Summary

Reporting to the Product Director of Kensington Tours, the Travel Content Specialist plays a key role in the management and delivery of the Kensington product portfolio.

With a requirement for advanced writing skills, a creative flair and the ability to project manage, the Travel Content Specialist will review and enhance the written descriptions for the contracted services built into our in-house booking tool (TMT), and be responsible for bringing a competitive product portfolio to market in a timely manner. Supporting the Product Director, this role is essential in owning and driving consistency to the Kensington product content as it appears in our itineraries and in TMT. This role is directly responsible for the itinerary management process; from the insight and fact gathering product development meetings to bringing the itineraries live on the Kensington website.

Responsibilities

Create itineraries and content with a consistent Kensington “voice” that spans across regions
Create itinerary shells based on insights and feedback from meetings and the Product Director
Attach services to newly developed itineraries
Maintain and update the Itinerary Management schedule under the guidance of the Product Director
Support the maintenance of existing product by addressing sales tickets, reviewing weekly NPS results, descriptions based on annual rate adjustment process, FAM feedback, etc.
Work in collaboration with the Product Director on itinerary flow, content and pricing
Support the Product Director in the preparation and compilation of product data for product development meeting and reporting purposes;

  • Strength/weakness of existing programs
  • Sales to date
  • Identification of gaps/opportunities
Ongoing management of “File Finishing”; Banners, thumbnails, highlights, itinerary descriptions
Maintain and update regional portfolio plans - provide monthly updates to management
Assist the Product Director in communicating product updates and itinerary sales status effectively with the sales floor and marketing teams via monthly updates, internal newsletters, RM meetings and Product Development meetings
Regularly update the TMT home page announcements with respect to Product Updates
Other duties as assigned including rate entry and dynamic hotel mapping

Qualifications

Advanced communication skills – ability to write with a clear sense of style and consistency that can span across regions
Superior attention to detail
Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage a large volume of work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and organize information
Understanding of the Tours Market/Specialist Travel/Luxury Travel/Cultural Travel space an asset
Proven ability to demonstrate creative and innovative thinking
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross functional teams
Able to work in a fast paced, changing, entrepreneurial environment and meet time sensitive deadlines
Upbeat personality with a comfort being both a team player and a self-starter - must be able to work in lean environment with autonomy
