Position Summary
We are currently hiring two Health Care Aides to join our team:
- Origin at Home (Bow Valley community-based role)
- Origin at Spring Creek (in-house role)
The Health Care Aide is responsible for providing assistance with resident Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, grooming, bathroom assistance, etc.), and medication administration to residents of Origin at Spring Creek under the direction of the LPN and the Director of Health and Wellness. The Health Care Aide will provide safe, competent, compassionate, care to the residents. The Health Care Aide must be registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Registry.

Role-Specific Details
1. Origin at Home (Bow Valley)
- Provides care to clients in the community (personal care, homemaking, respite care)
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
- Travel within the Bow Valley is required
2. Origin at Spring Creek (In-House)
- Provides care to residents within the Origin community
- No travel required
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out ADLs as directed by the nursing staff and documents accordingly.
- Participates with resident move in process and helps with the orientation and/or internal transfer process of residents as directed.
- Collaborates with other departmental personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for residents.
- Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, resident’s families and visitors and reports any problems to the supervisor.
- Supervises and serves residents in the dining room as required. Distributes meal trays to residents in suites as required.
- Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly.
- Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignment documentation and communicates with shift supervisors about activities, needs and problems related to resident care and/or safety.
- Carries out all duties in a safe manner and adheres to lifting policies at all times.
- Completes laundry, food service, activity programming and housekeeping duties as required.
