Job Summary
Carpenters at Burke’s are responsible for taking the scope provided by the Project Managers and executing the the demolition and/or repair of all items included within the scope. Carpenters are considered Site Supervisors at Burke's as they can be assigned to be the lead on any job. Job functions can include but are not limited to all forms of demolition, construction and housekeeping required to restore houses of which each person is competent in performing. Carpenters are required to have their own vehicle as well as all the tools necessary for the job. You play an integral role assisting us in maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality service with our clients. You are on the front lines and represent the Burke’s brand with job site management and quality customer service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Check schedule each night for job site location and arrive at job site for 8:00 am unless otherwise instructed by the Estimator / Project Manager
- Read over estimates with Project Managers to ensure understanding, that the timeline is accurate and that it appropriately represents the scope of work.
- Organize and arrange appropriate equipment and materials needed to rebuild / reconstruct properties.
- Manage and maintain site documentation, such as photos, using Encircle, and more.
- Practice on the job safety and encourage safety among the team
- Perform workplace inspections for hazards and take appropriate safety measures when required
- Keep work area clean and tidy
- Stay in contact with Project Manager to report on the progress of the job
- Ensure customer service excellence.
- Be responsible for always maintaining a safe job site.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experienced carpenter that can perform a variety of property construction tasks, including but not limited to drywall installation, removal & repair.
- Carpenters should be proficient in Rough and Finish Carpentry, Painting, Demolition, Drywalling, Taping, Mudding, etc.
- Experience with painting both residential and commercial properties
- Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to handle a regular physical workload, and lift at least 50lbs
- A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (Excavator / Skid Steer / BOOM Lift) would be an asset
Experience
- 5-10 years of carpentry experience in a wide variety of carpentry functions.

Pay: Based on skill and years of experience
Expected hours: 40-42.5 per week

Travel requirements: Own vehicle - Travel to and from job sites in the GTA and beyond
