I'm launching a new content project / YouTube channel documenting real side hustles and business challenges. We're starting with a flipping and reselling series where we document the process of turning a small investment into as much profit as possible over three months.
The Role:
I'm looking for a video editor to help me build this project from the ground up. You'll be editing weekly videos (12-25 minutes) in a vlog style — think cleanup, clipping, and organization rather than heavy production or animation.
What you'll do:
- Edit raw footage into engaging weekly videos
- Add images and simple graphics where needed
- Work collaboratively, we'll iterate and refine together
- Help shape the pacing and flow of the content
- Eventually, potentially assist with light video recording (down the road)
What I'm Looking For:
- Creative eye and passion for content creation
- Experience with YouTube content is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable with iterative feedback and revisions
- Someone eager to build something and take ownership of the work
- Based in Kingston, ON or surrounding areas (local preferred)
The Details:
- Start: 10-15 hours per week (potentially up to 20)
- Pay: Fixed rate per video, based on editing requirements
- Type: This is a 3 month contract to start. After that, based on the success of the project, we'll determine together whether this becomes something bigger, whether that's full time work or a longer term partnership
- Software: We're flexible, no need for expensive tools, just something that works
About This Project:
I recently sold a side hustle business that grew into a seven figure operation. That experience inspired me to create content that helps other people figure out how to start their own businesses with little to no money invested. This project is about documenting that journey and showing people what's actually possible.
