Summary
Reporting to the Financial Controller, our team is seeking a professional, detail-oriented individual who has excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills. This individual must be comfortable in a multi-tasking environment as well as willing to be a team player in conducting all aspects of the job, including ad-hoc projects. We are looking for an organized go-getter who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves and digging into the details.
What you will be doing:
As a senior member of the team, the Senior Accountant is an integral part of the accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliation, and monthly continuity schedules preparation.
- Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and variance analysis.
- Assist with the preparation of periodic management reports and analysis for senior leadership.
- Assist in maintaining financial databases / ERP (Netsuite), maintaining employee and project records.
- Support the creation, maintenance, and assessment of underlying reporting to streamline data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Payroll Oversight, process payroll journal entries, review payroll bi-weekly high level review.
- A/R Oversight, maintain processes and controls, assisting AR with troubleshooting, assist AR in processing of progress invoices.
- File and review sales tax returns and payroll source deductions.
- Assist with the coordination and preparation of corporate tax filing.
- Support audit processes, liaison with external auditors and prepare audit schedules and supporting as required.
- Assist with annual planning and budgeting process.
- A/P & Purchasing Oversight, maintain processes and controls, assisting AP & Purchasing with troubleshooting and complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and other financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Other accounting duties, as required.
What we need from you:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within at least 1 year working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree, Accounting/Business major.
- Solid knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
- Experience with ERP system, particularly Oracle NetSuite, is preferred.
- Full-cycle financial statement preparation experience required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational ability and problem-solving skill.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written as well as verbal) with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a professional and competent manner.
- Able to adapt to change and learn new processes as the business evolves/develops.
- Proven ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, handle high volumes, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Team player with positive attitude who takes initiative and has a strong work ethic.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks with high degree of accuracy, efficiency, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

- $80,000 - $95,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
