V.I.L. Landscaping is hiring a Horticulturalist / Fine Gardener who wants to grow into running their own crew.
You will start working hands-on with our fine gardening team and, as you prove skill, reliability, and leadership, you will step into more responsibility—eventually leading a dedicated fine gardening crew.

The Career Path
Phase 1 – Fine Gardening Specialist
You’ll work alongside experienced team members focusing on:
- High-end planting, pruning, and garden detailing
- Plant health, soil preparation, and long-term care
- Executing work to premium residential standards
- Professional job-site presentation and organization
Focus: Skill, consistency, standards
Pay: $27–$35/hr based on experience
Phase 2 – Senior Horticulturalist
As you prove ownership and reliability, you will:
- Take responsibility for full properties or sections of sites
- Mentor junior gardeners and apprentices
- Help plan installs, seasonal work, and garden refreshes
- Provide plant care recommendations and problem-solving on-site
Focus: Leadership through example, efficiency, accountability
Phase 3 – Fine Gardening Crew Lead
Once ready, you will:
- Lead and schedule a dedicated fine gardening crew
- Be responsible for quality, productivity, and presentation
- Train and develop team members
- Work closely with management on planning and standards
Focus: Leadership, crew performance, long-term growth
What We’re Looking For
- Strong horticultural or fine gardening experience
- Solid plant knowledge (perennials, shrubs, trees, ornamentals)
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Positive, professional attitude
- Willingness to learn, grow, and take ownership
- Interest in leadership and developing others
Bonus (not required):
- Horticulture education or certification
- Experience on high-end residential or estate properties
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience
