Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8:00AM to 4:30 PM, Friday 8:00AM to 2:00 PM

Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Binoojii House Team Leader, the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to facilitating an enriching, safe, and nurturing environment for children enrolled at Binoojii House. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum while considering the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and cultural needs of the children. The ECE will support children's growth and development through developmentally appropriate programming that reflects the values and traditions of Moose Deer Point First Nation.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Supervise, observe, and evaluate children's actions and activities.
· Ensure a positive environment and experience while facilitating secure and supportive relationships with children.
· Establish and maintain positive, nurturing rapport and relationships while guiding behaviours in accordance with Binoojii House's Behaviour Management Policy.
· Guide children in all areas of development in accordance with the philosophy and programs of Binoojii House.
· Facilitate child-directed programs, hands-on experiences, independent activities, and learning opportunities.
· Utilize problem-solving approaches when working with children.
· Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational activities and curriculum.
· Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive, and stimulating learning environment.
· Establish and maintain effective partnerships and communication with parents and guardians.
· Maintain accurate records, observations, and documentation as required.
· Project a professional image and maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
· Function as a supportive and flexible team member and collaborate effectively with all staff.
· Provide input, assistance, and leadership for special programs and initiatives.
· Assist and participate in all Binoojii House and Moose Deer Point First Nation events and activities as required.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, health and safety standards, and licensing requirements.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Early Childhood Education Diploma and/or Degree in a related field, or currently working toward Ministry-approved certification.
· Minimum one to two years of experience in a daycare or early learning environment preferred.
· Current Child/Infant First Aid and CPR certification.
· Successful medical examination, TB/Chest X-ray, and Police Record Check.
· Excellent teaching skills and program planning knowledge.
· Well-developed interpersonal and human relations skills.
· Flexible and able to effectively manage rapidly changing priorities, including emergency situations.
· Requirement for a CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working with First Nation children and families.
· Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, traditions, and community values.
· Experience working within a First Nation community.
· Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle considered an asset.
· Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and related regulations is considered an asset.
