Burlington Optometry is looking for an experienced, friendly, and detail oriented Optical Associate to join our team.
We are an independent optometry practice with a loyal patient base, and we take pride in providing personalized care from the eye exam through to the selection and fitting of eyewear. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong interest in eyewear and optics, and takes pride in providing thoughtful, knowledgeable service.
What You’ll Do
- Help patients choose frames and lenses that suit their prescription, lifestyle, visual needs, and personal style.
- Educate patients about lens options, treatments, coatings, and eyewear products.
- Perform frame fittings, adjustments, minor repairs, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with frame and lens suppliers and company representatives.
- Meet with frame and lens reps to stay current on new collections, lens technologies, and product offerings.
- Assist with selecting and updating the optical dispensary’s frame collection based on patient needs, current trends, and practice preferences.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming optical dispensary.
- Work closely with the optometrist and the rest of the team to ensure a smooth and positive patient experience.
- Build strong relationships with patients and provide knowledgeable, personalized service.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous optical experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of frames, lenses, measurements, and optical dispensing.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Friendly, confident communication skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with patients.
- Ability to make thoughtful recommendations while keeping the patient’s needs and preferences at the centre of the conversation.
- Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team member.
- Ability to stay organized and efficient in a busy clinical environment.
- Comfortable using technology and willing to learn new optical and practice management systems.
