What We're Hiring For
Child Care Educator (in before & after school programs)
Registered Early Childhood Educator (in before & after school programs)
Early Learning Facilitator (in before & after school programs)
Early Childhood Assistant
Supply Staff (in child care and before & after school programs)
High School Diploma, ECE/CYW/SSW/Rec & Leisure Diploma, or Bachelor of Education
Minimum of six months’ experience working with children
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be available to work at least two afternoons per week from 2:00-6:00pm, Monday to Friday
Must have PRC, Standard First Aid & CPR C, and up-to-date immunizations prior to first day of work
Familiarity with the CCEYA and Ministry of Education Child Care Licensing requirements an asset
Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 44 lbs, bending and stooping

Provides quality care to all children in a licensed childcare environment
Actively engages with children, and ensures supervision and safety of children at all times
Plans and implements a consistent child-centred program in accordance with YMCA curricula Playing to Learn and A Place to Connect
Complies with the Child Care and Early Years Act and YMCA policies and procedures, including the YMCA Child Protection Policy
Completes required documentation of children’s development and interactions
Ensures positive, professional communication with families on an ongoing basis
Before and after school positions require candidates to be available to work everyday Monday to Friday, either morning and afternoon (split shift) from 7:00-9:00am and 2:30-6:00pm OR afternoons only from 2:30-6:00pm. Hours listed are approximate, and vary based on school start & dismissal times
Staff working in salaried split shift roles in before and after school programs (morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday) are eligible for extended health and dental benefits including paid vacation and sick time upon successful completion of probationary period
