RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN SCHOOL OF NURSING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
The University of British Columbia's School of Nursing (Vancouver, Canada) invites applications for a ten-month term position, 0.2 FTE at the rank of Research Associate.
The School of Nursing is an outstanding academic unit, has an international reputation for research and scholarship, and has a vision characterized by social relevance and excellence. We offer a full range of innovative programs, including an intensive upper-division BSN, MN-NP, MSN and PhD program.
Successful applicants will have a PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, public health) from a recognized academic institution with an emphasis in maternal-child and women's health; a strong record of research productivity; and clinical experience in lactation. A minimum of two years post-doctoral research or equivalent experience working in a mixed-methods based team and knowledge of various statistical software as well as qualitative analysis software packages will be favored. Bilingual capabilities will be favored and international health care experience.
Responsibilities will include:
Research Management: Exercise professional judgment and initiative in the overall coordination and management of research tasks; Provide regular updates to Principal Investigator on research activities; Monitor research ethics procedures; Ensure timely notification to Principal Investigator of issues or problems. Participate in grant submissions for funding.
Data Collection, Data Analysis, and Supervision of Research Trainees
Knowledge Translation: Work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator and team members to develop various reports, academic papers, press releases, presentations and website content.
Expected start date for this position is September 14, 2020. Salary will be $11,804.80 per year.
