Purpose of Position:
To provide instruction in math, science, document use, and soft skills to adult learners for preparation into
manufacturing/ apprenticeship pathways.
Job Description:
- Provide instruction in a classroom setting following curriculum, guidelines, and objectives.
- Provide student/learner program orientation.
- Develop lessons and examinations that engage multiple learning styles.
- Track learner progress and provide additional support when needed.
- Conduct ongoing assessments through observation, unit testing, informal and formal testing, learner
evaluations, program, and curriculum evaluations.
- Research and review instructional materials (textbooks, manuals, software, videos, etc.) for instructional
purposes.
- Maintain program manuals, resources, instructional materials, supplies, etc.
- Complete statistical and narrative information for reports and program applications when required.
- Consult with program supervisor on program operational issues when required.
- Promote program awareness when required.
- All other assigned duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Current/In good standing Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification or 5 years of experience in
instruction/facilitation
- Experience in teaching Mathematics/Science and/or adult education setting is considered an asset
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, written and presentation skills
- Experience in curriculum design, development and implementation
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Empathy and a client-centred approach to service.
- Proficiency in using computer software and online learning platforms.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse client populations.
- Patience, resilience, and problem-solving skills to navigate client challenges.
- Valid driver's licence and vehicle.
- Current Vulnerable Sector check
Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:00pm
12 Month Fixed Contract
Pay: $32.79 per hour
