El Camino (380 Elgin) is looking for a sous chef to assist in running our scratch kitchen. You will be tasked with leading a line and managing a team of hard working talented cooks, taking care of orders, and over seeing general day to day operations. Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
- Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients
- Standardize recipes and plate presentations
- Facilitate a memorable experience for guests
- Work late nights and weekends
Qualifications:
- Previous management experience in independent restaurants
- Experience with Mexican Cuisine
- Knowledge of cost and labor systems
- Passion for food and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
