Overview
This position ensures the timely collection of receivables, daily posting and reconciliation of accounts, accurate maintenance of customer accounts and timely month end close process.
Education, Skills and Competencies Required:
- 2-3 years of Accounts Receivable experience
- Accounting/Finance diploma or are working towards a diploma would be an asset
- Must have a minimum of Intermediate Microsoft Excel (i.e.: Vlookups, PivotTables, etc.)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), fair credit practices and collection procedures
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of applicable provincial/federal sales tax laws
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable
- Maintain current DSO level of Accounts Receivable by being proactive, organized and maintain a good relationship with customers
- Review and reconcile customer accounts to identify discrepancies in a timely manner
- Review all orders that are on hold and make release/hold decisions based on internal control policies
- Process and email invoices for pc/nametag business
- Invoice intercompany charges as required, and send monthly intercompany confirmations
- Follow approval process for issuing credit notes
- Investigate customer outstanding invoices, short and over payments by communicating with customers and internal departments to resolve them, maintain notes for these investigations
- Follow the collection process to ensure customers are paying within their terms
- Escalate delinquent accounts to the Controller in a timely manner
- Liaise with Brea Account Receivable Team in finding best practices and improve efficiencies
General Accounting
- Balance ILS and Magento to Brio on a daily basis and for month end purposes
- Account reconciliations for accounts receivable and reserves
- Month end routine includes posting journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with internal and external audits as required
- Billing and posting of Accounts Receivable
- Run daily, weekly and month end reports for use by Finance
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned including scanning, filing and record keeping
- Ensure compliance with CCL's Code of Conduct, Ethical and Financial Policies, Internal Controls, PIPEDA, and applicable accounting, tax, and legal requirements.
- Submission of Statistics Canada reports
