Job Description

We are currently looking to hire several part-time general transcription typists. This job involves the ability to type verbatim transcripts. Strong English and typing skills (minimum 80 words per minute) are a must, but previous transcription experience is not a requirement. We will train successful candidates on the work. The job will require you to come in for up to six paid training sessions of four hours each. Once the training is complete, you will work from home and will be paid per page based on the amount of work you do.

For training, our office is conveniently located just south of Yonge and Sheppard about a five-minute walk from the Sheppard subway station, and our business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Job Duties & Expectations

Typing verbatim transcripts of court recordings with WPM 80+ (please provide your WPM in your application)
Completing and checking the accuracy of associated transcript elements by comparing them with source documents
Learning and following client house rules (i.e. client-specific preferences in formatting, spelling, capitalization, and editing conventions)
Holding all third-party (client) information in the strictest confidentiality
Reviewing completed work to identify potential areas of self-improvement
Psychological Requirements

Content being processed contains graphic details of sexual and physical violence. Successful candidates need to be comfortable with this content. The interview process will screen for ability to handle such content.
