Senior Project Accountant & Financial Systems Analyst to join their collaborative finance team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, this newly created role combines project accounting with financial systems analysis, offering the opportunity to partner closely with Finance, Project Management, Operations, and Supply Chain. You will play a key role in supporting project financial performance while driving improvements in ERP data integrity, business intelligence reporting, and financial processes. This position is ideal for an experienced project accountant who enjoys working with data, technology, and cross-functional teams in a project-based manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with Project Managers to provide financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle
- Track project costs, budgets, profitability, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and revenue recognition
- Prepare project financial reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reporting
- Assist with project setup, including budgets, billing structures, cost codes, and financial controls
- Review project timesheets, expenses, subcontractor costs, and milestone billing
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and project-related financial reporting
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the organization's ERP system
- Write SQL queries to validate financial data, perform analysis, and support reporting automation
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards to provide real-time project and financial insights
- Identify data inconsistencies and implement process improvements to strengthen financial reporting and data governance
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, IT, and Project Management to improve reporting, system functionality, and process efficiency
- Utilize AI-powered tools to improve reporting, automate routine tasks, and enhance financial analysis
- Support ERP enhancements, reporting initiatives, and continuous process improvement projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- CPA designation is considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including significant project accounting experience
- Strong understanding of project costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project financial reporting
- Experience working within manufacturing, automation, engineering, construction, or other project-based industries is strongly preferred.
