Stantec's Buildings Acoustics and Vibration Practice is expanding and looking for an Acoustician to join our growing team of Acousticians. This position will be based in Stantec's Calgary Office. You will work directly with senior acoustic specialists and engineers who provide structured mentorship, technical training, and professional development support.

Your day to day at Stantec
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Participating in building acoustics studies;
- Performing calculations, modeling and designing noise mitigation measures;
- Preparing technical reports and/or specifications;
- Traveling occasionally on site for measurements, site-visits or in-situ testing.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Demonstrated experience in building acoustics;
- Proficiency with relevant acoustics software (e.g., CadnaA, EASE, INSUL);
- Knowledge of applicable ASTM standards for in-situ building acoustics testing;
- Experience with sound level meters;
- Familiarity with design and drafting tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp);
- Ability to perform technical analyses and develop accurate acoustic models;
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and specifications;
- Willingness to travel occasionally, including multi-day trips;
- Valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors', Master’s or PhD in acoustics or a related engineering field.
- Experience in Buildings acoustics projects
- Professional Engineering designation is an asset (P.Eng. or equivalent).
- Approximately 3 years of relevant experience in consulting, including exposure to project delivery, client interaction, and basic financial/project management aspects

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
