Position Overview:
We are seeking an Integrated Planning Coordination Section Head to join the IRP Policy & Coordination Department. Under the
general direction of the manager, IRP Policy & Coordination, develop and maintain a framework for integrated planning across
energy supply and delivery, and the broader energy landscape. Responsible for coordination of various planning functions to ensure
an integrated approach considering natural gas, distribution, generation, transmission and non-Manitoba Hydro assets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the framework and processes for integrated resource planning and related analysis to ensure
coordination across departments as well as continual assessment and input from external drivers in the evolving energy
landscape.
- Lead and direct a team responsible for discerning information to implement and continuously enhance the integrated planning
framework to meet the needs of IRP including informing modelling recommendations and ensuring inputs/outputs required for
integrated planning are available and developed.
- Supervise and provide leadership and mentorship to the section team, creating an environment for growth and development.
- Collaborate with departments across the enterprise to incorporate asset management, customer, economic, environmental,
and energy strategies into integrated resource planning and to ensure the outputs from integrated planning meet enterprise
needs.
- Collaborate with Energy Supply Planning, Grid Infrastructure, Market Forecast & Load Research and other departments to
provide iterative and informed development of integrated planning scenarios.
- Monitor and prepare technical and strategic reports on integrated resource planning to continuously enhance the framework
key strategic initiatives including industry best practices.
- Monitor and prepare technical reports on the evolving energy landscape to prioritize and make strategic recommendations on
the futures and influencers to study. Ensure inputs for the integrated resource plan are developed and completed in an
integrated manner.
- Lead the team responsible for the division's preparation for regulatory hearings, such as PUB rate hearings including
developing and implementing the process for the preparation of integrated resource planning analysis required to support a
multi-year general rate application.
- Collaborate with the Government Relations Department to ensure plans and programs, including those from external
government agencies are incorporated into integrated resource planning.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of six years of related experience in
integrated resource planning and two years supervisory/leadership experience.
- Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a
specified amount of time).
