Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facilities Cleaner to join our Edmonton team. The Facilities Cleaner is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary production areas, offices, washrooms, lunchrooms, and other shared spaces throughout our chocolate-manufacturing facility.
Position type: Full-time, permanent
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and clean floors throughout the facility.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas within the chocolate-production facility.
- Clean and sanitize staff washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and other common areas.
- Remove garbage and recycling from production and common areas.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including doors, handles, windows, and shared equipment.
- Operate cleaning equipment, including automatic floor scrubbers.
- Complete scheduled facility and janitorial cleaning tasks.
- Clean floor drains, walls, vents, and other facility surfaces as required.
- Use and store cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify and report equipment, sanitation, food safety, or workplace safety concerns.
- Complete required cleaning and sanitation records accurately.
- Support additional cleaning and sanitation duties as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of previous cleaning or janitorial experience is required.
- Experience with sanitation in a food-manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small and diverse team.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in an environment that may include noise, dust, production odors, water, cleaning chemicals, and hot or cold temperature variations.
- Required use of personal protective equipment, including CSA-approved steel-toe footwear and other PPE as required.

- 1:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
