Job Summary
We are seeking an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of heavy machinery, including dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving equipment. This role involves operating various types of construction equipment safely and efficiently to support large-scale projects. The successful applicant will have a strong background in construction and mechanical systems, with the ability to perform precise operations in demanding environments. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require expert-level skills in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving equipment with precision and safety.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Execute tasks related to horizontal drilling, site grading, excavation, and paving as required by project specifications.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic repairs or coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including moving materials and preparing work areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers (Caterpillar preferred), excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving machinery.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Prior experience in construction environments with a focus on site preparation, grading, paving, or horizontal drilling is highly desirable.
- Commercial driving experience is a plus for transporting equipment between sites.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation in large-scale construction projects.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
Pay: $22.00-$40.35 per hour
