Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with our internal tooling team, maintaining tooling solutions that enhance production efficiency and quality on new model dies both within the plant and at various tool shops. This role requires a strong background in die design and principals, CAD design, and industrial equipment. The Tooling Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize tooling processes and ensure the seamless execution of die maturation processes both online, or on-site. Automotive program and Stamping experience is necessary. This will be a 6-12 month contract in Japan, so Japanese speaking individuals will be preferred.
Duties
- Work with Amino Engineering to understand the development of tooling using CAD software such as SolidWorks, to meet production requirements.
- Understand CNC machines and follow up/collaborate CNC tooling solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to communicate set manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Inspect part quality to guage and testing of tooling components to ensure durability and performance.
- Support welding, assembly, and mechanical modifications as needed to optimize tooling operations.
- Develop/support technical documentation including schematics, CAD drawings, and process instructions, updating process documentation and presenting as needed.
- Lead or participate in projects focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering or industrial equipment design within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics for designing tooling components.
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming, CNC machinery operation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of robotics integration, PLC programming, and automation systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Stamping Dies, welding techniques, assembly processes, and mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and process optimization strategies.
- Experience working with schematics, CAD drawings, and schematic diagrams for complex machinery.

Pay: $57,611.94-$95,622.25 per year
