This Senior Wealth Planning Associate role specializes in servicing our internal Staff Accounts portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your investment, financial, and insurance planning skills to provide the best possible financial advice to our biggest asset: our employees. You will provide this holistic advice on a strictly confidential basis and gain the trust of your colleagues, while also having the opportunity to sharpen your skills in preparation for your future as a Wealth Advisor.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in either our Toronto or Vancouver office. As part of our flexible and hybrid work policy, you will be expected to work in the office for 3 days per week.
- Take the lead in proactively engaging with new and existing clients (who are also employees) by providing needs-based assessments; provide easy-to-understand and well-suited financial and investment planning advice and solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive, ongoing, and tailored analysis and client meeting materials consisting of:
- Investment portfolio design
- Risk management
- Retirement income needs
- Estate planning
- Cash flow budgeting
- Capital needs analysis
- Tax planning
- Deliver an impeccable level of client service by remaining aware of the changing needs and circumstances of your clients and maintaining their confidence as a trusted advisor.
- Gain the confidence and loyalty of clients.
- Ensure all client information and regulatory requirements are up to date and current.
- Prepare and present financial literacy information, resources, and events.
- Develop leads and prospects.
- Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.
- Minimum of 5 years' related work experience in a client facing role, at a wealth management firm with direct exposure to / experience with investment, financial, and insurance planning.
- Must qualify to be registered and have already obtained:
- CIM or CFA Level 1; AND
- Life License Qualification Program (LLQP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superior interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical mindset and working with numbers.
- Highly observant with close attention to detail.
- Entrepreneurial spirit balanced with strong collaboration skills.
- Creative approach to problem solving and skilled at developing innovative solutions for clients.
- The ability to explain complex information and concepts simply and clearly.
- Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity.
- 2+ years of work experience at Nicola Wealth (for internal candidates only)
- Completion of the CFP or QAFP designation within first year in role.

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $78,000-$108,000, dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity.
