Located in beautiful Rosedale, BC, right off the Fraser River, we are a well-respected wholesale horticulture company, supplying specialty plants throughout North America.

As we continue to grow, we continue to need excellent people to join our team. Currently, we look to add a new full time position to our Production team – that of hands-on Procedure Documenter - Operations.

Job purpose

You either bring existing horticultural skills and abilities with you, or you are willing and prepared to learn the horticultural industry – literally, from the ground up! With that knowledge either gained, or brought with you, you will use it to apply your other talent – writing! You are a proven creative writer with excellent attention to detail looking for an opportunity to apply your technical writing skills. You strongly believe in efficiency and thrive under tight deadlines to create concise summaries, along with supporting videography as needed. With these skills under your belt, you will be responsible for developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to advance and support the accuracy of existing procedures, as well as documenting how tasks are currently completed. In addition to your technical writing talents, you are responsible for videographing tasks to assist in training, productivity standards and labour tracking. This is a fluid, hands-on position, responsible for gathering and documenting information, working with departments and personnel across the organization.

  • Post secondary Technical Writing Certification, or equivalent experience

  • Translate complex ideas or industry jargon into plain English
  • Create, revise and maintain quality documentation, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures, Working Instructions, Reference Documents, and Operational forms keeping in mind the intended audience
  • Analyze documents across multiple sites to maintain continuity of style and content
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to deliver high-quality documentation with minimal supervision, including written and video
  • Review quality documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Manage own work schedule and meet deadlines
  • Manage information within our systems, ensuring that the right content is available to the right audience
  • Manage more than one project at a time and focus on the right thing at the right time
  • Collaborate appropriately to improve on completed work
  • Manage the details in all you do
  • Any other duty or responsibility as assigned and for which training has been provided
