About the Program
The Communications & Creative Assistant supports the delivery of The Royal’s internal and external engagement activities. Working closely with the Communications Director and team, this role supports the organization’s public relations by assisting coordinate communications, engagement initiatives, and partnership activities, contributing to a cohesive, organization-wide “One Royal” approach to communications and brand alignment.
Key Responsibilities

Support the coordination and maintenance of the organization’s master engagement calendar, helping to ensure alignment, visibility, and appropriate sequencing of communications and engagement activities. Assist with tracking communications requests and support timely, high-quality delivery.

Assist in employee engagement efforts by supporting campaigns, recognition initiatives, and activities that support culture, collaboration, and inclusion across The Royal.

Provide graphic design support to contribute to communications and engagement initiatives, ensuring materials are clear, consistent, and aligned with brand standards.

Support the implementation of The Royal’s brand strategy by assisting with partnership activities and event coordination, helping to ensure consistency across public- and community-facing initiatives.
Qualifications
-
Two-year College Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field. Undergraduate Degree preferred.

1–3-year experience in public relations or design.

Proficiency in graphic design principles and knowledge of health care systems, practices, and terminology.
Knowledge and Skills

Ability to support planning and coordination of events and engagement activities.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks, timelines, and priorities.

Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners, and vendors.

Basic understanding and application of brand standards in communications materials.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.

Proficiency using tools and systems to track activities, maintain calendars, and support workflows.

Interest in inclusive engagement practices and initiatives that reflect diverse communities
Language Requirements
English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French/English) is preferred.

Salary Range:
31.35 to 36.34 per hour
